Kakamora

The Kakamora crochet doll set is one character made well rather than a cast made quickly. A round coconut body, painted markings worked into the yarn, and almost no limbs — which sounds easy and is not.

A doll that is essentially a sphere has nowhere to hide a mistake. The increases and decreases have to be spaced evenly all the way round or the body goes lopsided, and the face markings have to land square on the front. There is no dress or hair to distract from either.

The one that sits anywhere

No legs means no falling over. This is the doll that ends up on a desk, a windowsill or a shelf edge where a standing doll would not stay.
